Dissolve 25 g yeast in lukewarm 2,5 dl milk, add 50 g sugar and leave it for 5 minutes.
Mix ingredients:
Add 500 g wheat flour, 2 tsp aniseed, 1/2 tsp salt and softened 25 g butter to the yeast mixture.
Knead the dough until it is smooth and supple.
Rising:
Leave the dough to rise, covered, in a bowl for 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
Shape the bread:
Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and shape into small breads.
Place them on baking paper.
Second rise:
Leave the breads to prove for 20 minutes.
Baking:
Preheat the airfryer to 180 °C.
(Pre-program it, or let it run for a couple of minutes before cooking)
Brush the breads with beaten 1 pcs egg and bake them in the airfryer for 10-12 minutes, or until golden and cooked through.Start the online kitchen timer here
Notes
Aniseed can be replaced with cardamom for a variation in flavour.
The breads can be frozen and reheated in the airfryer.
Bake in two batches if there isn't enough room in the airfryer. The breads must not touch each other.
If you want a more intense and evenly distributed aniseed flavour in the bread, you can lightly crush the seeds in a mortar or with the back of a spoon before adding them to the dough.
