Ingredients
For the schnitzel:
4pcspork chops
2pcseggs
100gbreadcrumbs
50gwheat flour
1tspSalt and pepper
1tsppaprika
1tspOil for spraying
For the sauce:
250gmushroomssliced
1pcsonionfinely chopped
2tbspbutter
2dlvegetable stock
1dlcream
1tspSalt and pepper
Instructions
Start by preparing the schnitzels. Pound the chops flat with the meat mallet.Season them with salt, pepper and paprika.
Dip the chops first in flour, then in beaten egg, and finally in breadcrumbs. Make sure to coat them completely.
Preheat the air fryer to 180°C. (Pre-program, or let it run for a couple of minutes before cooking)Spray a little oil on the schnitzels and place them in the air fryer.Cook for about 12-15 minutes, or until they are golden and cooked through.Turn them halfway through.Start the online kitchen timer here
While the schnitzels are in the air fryer, make the sauce. Melt butter in a saucepan, add the onion and mushrooms, and sauté until golden. Add the stock and let it simmer for 5 minutes. Add the cream, and let it simmer until the sauce thickens. Season with salt and pepper.
Serve the schnitzels with warm mashed potatoes and brown gravy, garnished with redcurrant jelly and peas on the side.
Notes
-Make sure not to overfill the air fryer basket, so the air can circulate and make the schnitzels crispy.
