These pizza pinwheels are perfect as a fun, kid-friendly snack, a packed lunch, or as a main course. You can also customise them with different fillings to taste, such as vegetables or various types of cheese and meat. Enjoy!
Prepare the Dough:Roll out the pizza dough on a cutting board. Spread the tomato purée evenly over the dough using a knife or an offset spatula.
Add the Filling:Sprinkle grated mozzarella, ham strips and dried oregano over the dough. Add a small pinch of salt for extra flavour.
Roll the Dough:Starting from the long side, roll the dough up tightly into a long log.
Cut the Pinwheels:Cut the roll into slices about 2 cm thick. You should end up with around 12-16 pinwheels.
Air Fryer Prep:Lightly brush the bottom of the air fryer basket with olive oil to stop the pinwheels from sticking.
Cook the Pinwheels:Place the pinwheels in the air fryer with a little space between them. You may need to cook them in several batches, depending on the size of your air fryer.
Cooking:Cook the pinwheels in the air fryer at 180°C for 8-10 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
Serving:Let the pinwheels cool for a couple of minutes, and garnish with fresh basil before serving, if you like.
