Kouign Amann is a Breton pastry known for its crisp, caramelised surface. This version makes it easy by using ready-made croissant dough and an air fryer for quick and convenient baking.
Roll out 1 pcs can of ready-made croissant dough on a clean surface.
Spread a thin layer of the softened 50 g butter onto the dough.
Sprinkle an even layer of 100 g sugar over the buttered surface.
Fold the dough into thirds like a letter, first one third from one side, then one third from the other side.
Gently roll out the dough again into a rectangle and repeat the butter and sugar procedure.
Fold the dough into thirds once more and gently roll it out into a square shape.
Cut the dough into smaller squares and shape them into small parcels by folding the corners in towards the centre.
Place the small parcels in air fryer baking tins or on parchment paper in the air fryer.
Preheat the air fryer to 180°C. (Pre-program it, or let it run for a couple of minutes before cooking)
Bake in the air fryer for 12-15 minutes, or until they are golden and caramelised on top.Start online køkkenurether
Let them cool for a couple of minutes before serving.
Notes
- Make sure the dough does not get too thin when you roll it out, so it does not crack during baking.- Keep an eye on the baking time, as different air fryers can vary in temperature and performance.
