Latkes in the Air Fryer

Latkes are a traditional Jewish dish, typically served during Hanukkah. They are crispy potato pancakes, which are normally fried in oil, but in this recipe we use an air fryer for a lighter and healthier version.

Ingredients

Instructions
Peel
4 pcs potatoes
and grate them coarsely.
Grate
1 pcs onion
and mix it with the grated potatoes.
Place the mixture in a paper towel or a clean tea towel and squeeze out as much liquid as possible.
Put the potato and onion mixture in a bowl and add
1 pcs egg
,
2 tbsp plain flour
,
1 tsp Salt and pepper
.
Mix everything together well.
Form small pancakes from the mixture (approx. 7-8 cm in diameter).
Preheat the air fryer to 180°C.
(Pre-program it, or let it run for a couple of minutes before cooking)
Spray the air fryer basket with oil and place the pancakes in a single layer (you may need to cook them in several batches).
Spray the tops of the latkes with
1 tbsp oil
.
Fry the latkes in the air fryer for 10-12 minutes, turning them halfway through, until golden and crispy.

Take the latkes out of the air fryer and place them on paper towel to remove excess oil.
