By using an air fryer, you get a lightly crisp exterior while the bread stays soft and delicious inside. It's perfect as a side for your favourite Indian dishes or as a tasty snack.
Mix 2 dl lukewarm water, 1 tbsp sugar, and 2 tsp dry yeast in a bowl. Let it rest for 5 minutes, until it foams.
Add 400 g wheat flour, 2 tsp salt, 1 dl Greek yoghurt, and 2 tbsp olive oil to the yeast mixture. Knead the dough together well until it is smooth and elastic. Cover the bowl with a clean cloth and let the dough rise for 1 hour, or until it has roughly doubled in size.
Knead the dough lightly, then divide it into 4 equal pieces. Roll out each piece to a thickness of about 0.5 cm.
Preheat the air fryer to 180°C. (Pre-programme it, or let it run for a couple of minutes before cooking)Place the naan breads in the air fryer basket (you may need to do this in batches, depending on the size of your air fryer). Cook them for 4-6 minutes, or until they are golden and puffed up. Turn them halfway through for even baking.Start the online kitchen timer here
Remove the naan breads from the air fryer and brush them with melted butter if you like, sprinkle with 1 tsp Garlic powder, 1 bunch fresh coriander, or sesame seeds for extra flavour.
Notes
Remember that the thickness is crucial for the baking time. Try making a couple of pieces first and adjust the baking time accordingly.
