Cut the potatoes into very thin slices using a mandoline or a knife.
Remove the starch:
Place the potato slices in a bowl of cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.
Then rinse them thoroughly and dry them well with paper towel.
Prepare the air fryer:
Preheat the air fryer to 180°C.(Preheat function, or let it run for a few minutes before cooking)
Prepare the crisps:
In a bowl, mix the potato slices with 1 tbsp olive oil, 1 tbsp Salt to taste and, if desired, 1 tbsp Spices.
Spread the slices evenly in the air fryer in a single layer. Use parchment paper or a silicone mat if needed.
Cooking:
Fry the potato slices in the air fryer for 15-20 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
Shake the basket regularly to ensure even cooking.
Cooling:
Place the finished potato crisps on a baking tray lined with paper towel to absorb the excess oil.
Let them cool before serving.
Notes
- Thinner slices give crispier crisps.- Don't overload the air fryer to avoid uneven cooking.- Experiment with different spices to find your favourite.
