Equipment
1 Air fryer
1 Bowl
1 Dough scraper
1 Parchment paper Optional
Ingredients
250gWheat flour
2dlPlain yoghurt
1tspBaking powder
½tspBicarbonate of soda
1tspSalt
1tbspOlive oil
1bunchFresh herbsfor extra flavour as savoury buns
Prepare the dough:Mix the wheat flour, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda and salt in a large bowl. Add the yoghurt and olive oil, and stir until the dough comes together. If you want savoury buns, stir the chopped herbs into the dough. If the dough is too sticky, add a little extra flour.
Shape the Buns:Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces (for smaller buns, divide into more pieces). Shape each piece into a round bun.
Prepare the air fryer:Preheat the air fryer to 180 °C. If you use baking paper, put it in the basket just before the buns so they hold it down. The paper must never lie loose in the hot air fryer.
Baking:Place the buns in the air fryer basket, making sure there is a little space between each bun for even baking. Bake at 180 °C for about 15-18 minutes, until they are golden brown and sound hollow when you tap the bottom lightly. Bake in 2 batches if there isn't room for all of them.Start the online kitchen timer here
Cooling:Let the buns rest for 10 minutes before serving.
