Notes
Serving suggestions:
On a Dessert Plate: Arrange a piece of brownie cake on an elegant dessert plate. This gives a simple yet stylish look.
With Fresh Berries: Add a handful of fresh berries such as strawberries, raspberries or blueberries alongside the cake. The fresh, tart berries complement the sweet and rich flavour of the brownie perfectly.
Sprinkled with Flaky Salt: A little flaky salt sprinkled over the cake can enhance the caramel flavour and add an interesting texture.
Dusted with Icing Sugar: A light dusting of icing sugar over the top can give a snowy appearance and a touch of extra sweetness.
With a Scoop of Ice Cream: Serve a scoop of vanilla or salted caramel ice cream alongside the cake. The coolness and creaminess of the ice cream are a wonderful contrast to the warm, dense cake.
Accompaniments:
Whipped Cream: A dollop of whipped cream beside the cake can add a light and airy texture.
Coffee or Espresso: Serve a cup of strong coffee or espresso to balance the sweet and rich dessert. Coffee is a classic accompaniment to chocolate.
Dessert Wine or Liqueur: A sweet dessert wine or a liqueur such as Baileys can be a lovely addition to this dessert, especially for a grown-up dinner.
Fruit Sauce: A raspberry sauce or other fruit-based sauce can add a lovely tartness and colour to the dessert.
Nuts or Granola: For extra crunch, consider sprinkling chopped nuts or granola over the cake.
These serving suggestions and accompaniments can be adapted to personal preferences and the occasion. For example, for a more formal dinner, ice cream or whipped cream can be ideal, while fresh berries and coffee can be perfect for a relaxed brunch.
