These delicious cinnamon rolls are perfect for a quick and easy treat when you fancy something sweet and spiced. Using the air fryer gives you a crisp crust and a soft, fluffy centre, all with less fat than traditional cinnamon rolls.
Start by making the dough. Mix 350 g plain flour, 50 g sugar1 pinch salt and 1 tsp dried yeast (approx. 7 g) in a large bowl.
Lightly whisk 1 pcs egg and add it along with 125 ml milk and the melted 50 g butter to the flour mixture.Stir well until the dough starts to come together.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes, until it is smooth and elastic. Put the dough back in the bowl, cover it with a clean tea towel, and let it rise for about 1 hour, until it has roughly doubled in size.
While the dough is rising, mix 50 g butter, 50 g brown sugar and 2 tbsp ground cinnamon for the filling in a bowl until well combined.
Once the dough has risen, roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle about ½ cm thick.
Spread the filling evenly over the dough and roll it up tightly from the long side to form a log.
Cut the log into slices about 2 cm thick using a dough cutter or a sharp knife.
Place the cinnamon rolls in the air fryer basket, making sure to leave a little space between them.
Preheat the air fryer to 180°C and bake the cinnamon rolls for 8-10 minutes, or until they are golden and baked through.Start online køkkenuret her
While the cinnamon rolls cool slightly, mix 100 g icing sugar, 1 tbsp milk and ½ tsp vanilla extract (if using) in a bowl to make the icing.
Brush the icing over the warm cinnamon rolls and serve immediately.
Notes
-You can customise the filling to your taste by adding chopped nuts or raisins.-Remember to let the cinnamon rolls cool slightly before applying the icing, as this will help prevent it from melting away completely.
