Chocolate buns in the Air Fryer
These delicious chocolate buns are perfect for any time of day. Made with love and freshly baked in the air fryer, they're both soft and packed with chocolate flavour. They're easy to make and quick to prepare, making them a favourite for the whole family.
Equipment
- 1 Air fryer
- 1 Bowl
- 1 Stand mixer
- 1 Parchment paper
- 1 Dough scraper
- 1 Kitchen scale
- 1 Measuring spoons
- 1 Knife
Ingredients
- 250 g wheat flour
- 25 g sugar
- 25 g fresh yeast
1 tsp salt- 1 dl milk
- 25 g butter melted
- 1 pcs egg
- 50 g dark chocolate
Instructions
Prepare the dough:
- Warm 1 dl milk in a saucepan or the microwave until lukewarm (approx. 37°C).
- Crumble 25 g fresh yeast into a large bowl, and pour the lukewarm milk over it.Stir until the yeast has dissolved.
- Add 25 g sugar, 1 tsp salt, melted 25 g butter and 1 pcs egg. Mix well.
- Add 250 g wheat flour a little at a time, while stirring or using a stand mixer.Knead the dough well until it's smooth and elastic.
- Roughly chop 50 g dark chocolate and add it.Knead now, until the chocolate is evenly distributed in the dough.
Rising time:
- Cover the bowl with a damp tea towel or cling film.Let the dough rise in a warm place for approx. 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
Shape the buns:
- Once the dough has risen, turn it out onto a lightly floured surface.
- Divide the dough into 6 equal pieces, and shape them into buns.
- Place the buns on a sheet of parchment paper and let them prove for approx. 15 minutes.
Prepare the air fryer:
- Preheat the air fryer to 180°C. (Use the preheat program, or let it run for a couple of minutes before cooking)
Baking:
- Place the risen buns in the air fryer, avoiding overfilling the basket.
- Bake the buns for 10-12 minutes, or until they're golden and cooked through.Start online kitchen timer
- Repeat with the remaining buns, if necessary.
Cooling:
- Let the buns cool on a wire rack.
