These delicious creamy potatoes cooked in an air fryer are a modern twist on a classic side dish. This recipe combines the deep, rich flavour of creamy potatoes with the easy and faster cooking method that an air fryer offers.
In a large bowl, mix the potato slices (approx. 2-3 mm thick) with cream, garlic, salt, pepper, and thyme/rosemary. Make sure the potatoes are well coated in the cream mixture.
Layer the potato slices in a greased ovenproof dish (approx. 18–20 cm) that fits in your air fryer, and pour the rest of the cream mixture over them. If you like, sprinkle grated cheese between the layers and on top.
Bake at 180 °C for 35–40 min. Cover the dish tightly with foil (fold it over the edge) for the first 20 min so the potatoes become tender without getting too dark. Then remove the foil and keep baking until a knife slides easily through the potatoes and the top is golden.Start the online kitchen timer here
Let the creamy potatoes rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of cream to taste. Use more for a richer dish or less for a lighter version.- Cheese is optional, but adds a lovely melted and golden top.- Remember to check the potatoes along the way, as the cooking time can vary depending on your air fryer.
