500gbeef mince8-12% fat
4pcsbacon
1pcsonion
1pcsegg
2tbspbreadcrumbs
1tspsalt
1tspblack pepper
1tsppaprika
1tspdried thyme
1tbspsunflower oil
Instructions
Mix 500 g beef mince, finely chopped 1 pcs onion, 1 pcs egg, 2 tbsp breadcrumbs, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp black pepper, 1 tsp paprika and 1 tsp dried thyme in a bowl.
Shape the mixture into 4 even Salisbury steaks.Wrap the bacon around the sides of the steaks. Insert a toothpick if needed.
Brush the Salisbury steaks with 1 tbsp sunflower oil if you'd like a crispier surface.Note: no oil on the bacon.
Preheat the air fryer to 180 °C.(Pre-program it, or let it run for a few minutes before cooking)
Place the Salisbury steaks in the air fryer in a single layer and cook at 180 °C for 12-14 minutes, turning them halfway through.Start the online kitchen timer here
Take the Salisbury steaks out and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Serve with potatoes, vegetables and a thick, rich brown gravy for a complete meal.
- You can of course leave out the dried thyme and paprika. But give it a try! It adds a lovely edge to the beef.
