Walnut Buns in the Air Fryer

These walnut buns are light, flavourful and packed with crunchy walnuts. Baking them in the air fryer gives a golden, even crust with no need for an oven.

Ingredients
500
g
wheat flour

g
yeast

salt

sugar

lukewarm water

walnuts

olive oil

Instructions
Crumble
25 g yeast
into a bowl and dissolve it in
3 dl lukewarm water
.
Add
1,5 tsp salt
,
1 tbsp sugar
and
2 tbsp olive oil
, and stir well.
Add
500 g wheat flour
a little at a time and knead the dough until it is elastic and releases from the bowl.
Fold
100 g walnuts
into the dough and cover the bowl with a damp cloth. Let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
When the dough has risen to double its size, shape 12 small buns and place them on baking paper or a silicone mould.
Preheat the air fryer to 180°C.
(Pre-program it, or let it run for a couple of minutes before cooking)
Bake the buns for 10-12 minutes, or until they are golden and baked through.

Let the buns cool a little on a wire rack before serving.
Notes
The buns can be frozen and quickly reheated in the air fryer.
