Welcome to my big guide to bread baking! I’m Morten from airfryerkogebogen.dk, and few things beat the smell of freshly baked bread spreading through the kitchen. Through my great passion for the machine, I’ve tested countless doughs to build the hands-on first-hand experience needed for great baking. Whether you dream of a classic white loaf, a rustic rye bread, or a flavorful focaccia, my mission is to help you all the way to the finish line.
When you bake bread, precision and reliability are alpha and omega. That’s why I only share my own expertise and recipes that I’ve tested again and again. You can confidently trust that my guides are honest and reliable, so you always achieve a perfect, airy result with a fantastic crust.
It may sound surprising, but your airfryer is actually a formidable little oven that makes bread baking a breeze. Here are the reasons why I prefer it over the traditional oven:
Yes, pretty much everything from light wheat breads to dark rye bread! However, my experience has taught me that very tall or large loaves can struggle to bake through in the middle before the crust gets too dark. That’s why I always recommend adapting the size of the bread to your specific airfryer basket.
Because the heating element sits very close to the bread, the top quickly takes on color. My best and most thoroughly tested trick is to turn the temperature down slightly compared to a regular oven, or to loosely lay a piece of aluminum foil over the bread during the last part of the baking time to protect it.
It depends entirely on the dough. Firm doughs can most often be baked directly on a piece of trimmed baking paper in the basket. Softer doughs (such as focaccia or rye bread) are best baked in an oven-safe tin that fits down into your airfryer. Just make sure that air can still circulate around the tin.
