Why pulled beef burger in the airfryer?
Pulled beef offers a deeper and more robust flavor profile than traditional ground beef. By slow-cooking the beef brisket, either in an oven or, as we’ll explore today, in an airfryer, we achieve an incredible tenderness that simply melts in your mouth. Spices like paprika, garlic powder, and brown sugar give a rich and complex flavor that is both sweet and smoky.
Airfryer magic that saves you time
In a busy everyday life, it’s not always possible to set aside hours for cooking. This is where the airfryer comes into the picture as a real time-saver. Traditionally, pulled beef is prepared over many hours, but with an airfryer you can achieve similar results in considerably less time, especially if you start with pre-cooked beef brisket.
I recommend this lovely IPA with our pulled beef burger
A pulled beef burger with BBQ sauce, paprika, and cayenne pepper calls for something with bite and character – and here a good IPA is the perfect match. The hop bitterness cuts elegantly through the richness of the cheddar and the tender beef brisket, while the fruity and citrusy notes lift the smoky spices and bring a fresh balance to every bite. I highly recommend the IPA – Dåse 44cl – a Danish craft-brewed IPA from Herslev Bryghus, created precisely for this kind of bold burger dish.
The perfect pulled beef
Assembling the perfect pulled beef is an art. Start with a good quality beef brisket, give it a generous layer of your favorite BBQ sauce, and let the airfryer do the rest. When the meat is tender and juicy, “pull” it with a fork and place it on a lightly toasted bun. Add a layer of melted cheddar, some onion rings, and maybe a spoonful of coleslaw for a fresh crunch. The result? A burger that not only satisfies your hunger, but also takes your taste buds on an unforgettable journey.
Experiment with different types of BBQ sauce, spices, and sides. If you’re into a spicy version, add a little extra cayenne pepper or use a stronger BBQ sauce.

Our notes for the recipe
Here is an adapted version of the recipe with pre-cooked beef brisket:
Ingredients:
- 1 kg pre-cooked beef brisket
- Spice mix (as mentioned in the original recipe)
- The rest of the ingredients as before
Cooking time: Approx. 1 hour in the airfryer
Total time: Approx. 1 hour and 15 minutes
Method:
- Prepare the meat: If the beef brisket is in the fridge, let it come to room temperature. Pat the surface dry with kitchen paper and rub the spice mix in well.
- Airfryer: Preheat your airfryer to 150°C. Place the pre-cooked beef brisket in the airfryer. Since the meat is already cooked, you only need to use the airfryer to heat the meat through and add a delicious crust.
- Cooking: Let the meat cook in the airfryer for about 1 hour, or until the surface is caramelised and the meat is heated through. Check that the meat is hot enough in the centre before serving.
- Resting time and "pulling": Follow the same resting time and "pulling" process as in the original recipe.
